I am in the middle of completely restoring my 23' pontoon boat and am working on building the new seating. I have been scouring the internet and local fabric stores looking for vinyl that I will feel comfortable buying and having the peace of mind knowing it wont start cracking after a couple of years. You can find vinyl as cheap as $7 a yard up to $30+ per yard but I'm trying to find a happy medium between the two and was hoping someone has had a good experience with a certain brand or manufacturer of marine vinyl. Thanks for your input!

I have Had a lot of expierience with this subject. After rebuilding seats for 15 years I suggest the following. first Make sure the vynil has a woven back. most felt back will not last 5 years. Then make sure that it is marine grade. I suggest a middle grade material like futera or enduratex for about $15 per yard. Naugahide is a excellent product however it is costly an can be too stiff to taylor in some applications. You can also check out rochfordsupply.com they have a great online selection and specilaize in closeouts of quality marine vinyl which could save you some money.

i went to jo-anns and used some coupons for 30 or 50% off after 2 years still looked great i have a 5 year old nefew and he beat on it a little bit never had an issue, pretty easy to work with as well. as well hey have a variety of colors, some with sparkle and a glass coat some just plain. i used a plain red color not sure what the glossy sparkles would look like after a few years.
