Im not sure about what throttle it does this but.... I took my boat out two weeks ago. My dad died and left it to me. Motor model is j150exedb. I ran up on shallow territory and well by the time it was all said and done the throttle had really been used and motor had revved high... Ever since that the motor has been skipping.... it idles fine and low rpm is fine but anything a quarter or over its shaking violently... im really worried as im afraid that ive done something bad to my dads boat...I did pull the cover thats over the spinning timing rotor and looked at it while it turned and it didnt stay level it looked wobbly... Spark plugs are a bit rusty and darkened where they enter the motor.... any one know about how many ohms i should get out of the coil and wires? any help would greatly be appriciated.... and one more thing after we figure that out. My boat takes a while to start even with choke, any clue as to why? I have pumped the bulb till firm so i know that fuel has reached the motor... and if it sits for 30 or more minutes, its dificult to start but not as bad as the first start??? Thanks for your time! Im waiting impatiently!

Can you explain what you mean here? What is the motor doing?
A decent description of the mechanism of "injury" may well help the forum to help you.

May be as simple as a bent prop causing the vibrations, the other stuff is probably simple routine maintenance. Check in FAQ section for carb and ignition troubleshooting.

Well the easiest way to explain it is by saying its a miss or few... Its as if its a controlled miss like a governed almost because no matter how much throttle I give it ... It stays at that rpm and it shakes like a car would if it misses one a few cylinders.... I looked the motor over yesterday and nothing looked damaged or dirty its all very clean.
