I took the boat out to our local lake this weekend. While I was there I noticed the pitch on the trim/tilt motor changed (sounded different) as it trimmed up and down. The more it worked, the slower it would get. After a few times of trimming up and down, it would crawl to a stop, and then wouldn't do anything for about 5 minutes. After a few minutes it would start to work again, although very slow, until it would crawl to a halt. Wait another 5 minutes and it would begin working again. The battery voltage would drop to around 10.5 volts when the trim motor was working. Not sure if that's normal, but the behavior of the trim motor sounded like the battery was going dead. I changed the battery with another which had been charged all night the night before. The trim motor still worked the same...with no change. Any ideas?

Sounds like the trim motor is dragging and will need to be pulled and inspected

Is that a difficult job? Does the outboard motor have to be removed? Just curious.... Also, can the trim motor be rebuilt? New ones are about 600.... Thanks!
