Hey Everybody,

I'm new to the board and see alot of knowledgable people on here, so I am sure somebody can help me with what is probably a simple repair job.

I want to fix some fiberglass deck panels on my buddy's boat. The panels are removable. They're basically fiberglass skins that have fiberglass-reinforced matting over plywood on the underside. I have to remove the rotted plywood and replace with new materials. The largest panel is only 36" X 60" so I can do this in my garage. I also see some stiffeners on the plywood on the largest panel.

I'm not much of a computer geek and thus I have been unsuccessful in posting pictures.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Need Help - Repairing Fiberglass Deck Panels

After reading my post, I see it is somewhat vague.

There are 3 deck panels I took off the boat because the plywood attached to the skin was rotten. After removing the plywood fromt he skin, I noticed that there is a solid, opaque, olive green substance that appears to have been used to bond the plywood to the skin. Would that be epoxy resin or polyester resin? What color is polyester resin when it dries?
