Question about the trim tab shutting down engine

I have a recently purchased 86 Sylvan Bowrider and whenever I use the trim tab it pulles a massive amount of power from the Batt/ Alternater. It sometimes even shuts the engine off. I thought maybe a bad ground or Alternater is not keeping up. Any insight would be helpsul.

You have a resistive connection at your battery or elsewhere that causes a voltage drop to your ignition when you operate the trim. I would start with removing the connections at the starter and sand them down to bare metal and reinstall and see if you still have the issue.
