I have a 1997 dps drive. I had the boot changed out a few years ago. The VP book says two years, but my mechanic says they can last 8 to 10 years.I was wondering what the criteria was for the boot change. Is it time interval or condition? What are the conditions to look for that would indicate a boot change? Also, what else should I look for re-outdrive service besides engine alignment. Does the alignment have to be checked every year? Or just when there's vibration?
