1997 eveinrude 150 ficht need help

went to lake backed into water motor started ran for about 5 mins then just quit also lost the power trim on the throttle trim would work on bow of boat never would start or even crank a couple of hours later the bow trim quit you could push the bow trim and the gas gauge would jump up and down check battery connection it was good

Check ALL your battery cable connections both on the battery and the mtr for being good,clean and tight. You also may want to have your battery load tested.

i switched to another which is new it still would not crank at all it wont do anything it wont even try to crank thanks for the post

As boobie said cable ends clean & tight.
Any corrosion on ends polish with wire wheel in drill.
Check voltage at motor.
Check fuses on motor.:)

The 1997/98 models were known for the PDP to go bad.

i don't know that much about this what is a pdp is this the same as a power pack

The PDP is the thing with all of the fuses in it, I would check all of the fuses first.

First thing I would do is to check the main power relay, it is not on the PDP, I think it is in the cowl on the port side. If that relay checks out proceed with this diagram. After verifying all of this and all components in the PDP (fuses and relays) I would feel confident that the PDP is bad. It is not a cheap part but cheaper than an EMM, hope this helps.

OMC did have probs back in those yrs with the PDP panels having connections breaking loose. If you find this to be the prob, there are posts on here where they were repaired. Mainly loose connections. Simple to do.

thanks everyone for the help it ended up being two blowed fuses in the one in the pdp and the other in the fuse panel in the rod box
