Did your mechanic mean pre-mix it yourself? If so, you would by-pass the VRO oil mixer and alarm system and mix the oil/gas yourself. Add the proper ratio of oil to the gas when you fill up at the pump. What I have heard with Evinrude and Johnson alike, when you are running at 5000 - 6000 rpm and the oil alarm comes on - Its too late! Your better off premixing! It might smoke a little less while idling too!
