i went and looked at a boat today with the motor in the title, guy said it runs but he didnt have a battery to crank it, he said he has 2 more motors that will come with the boat for parts. about how much do you think they would be worth? as cheap as i can buy the boat i want it, but the outboard wont shift into reverse, from what ive researched i dont feel like messing with the selectric stuff an would just like to go mechanical shift. Do yall think the 3 outboards together would sell for enough to buy a good used OB?

Don't have a clue what the motors are worth. But I can tell you that a 60hp would not be a 1973. And the 1973 would not have electric shift anyway.

Hydro-Electric shift 60hp motors were built in 1970-71.

Buyer Beware.

also forgot to mention, he said it went into reverse until he put a new lower on it, so he probly just didnt adjustlinkage/hooked wires wrong.

If you could get one running and shifting properly, I would think you could most likely sell it to someone who didn't know about the whole electric shift thing for $500 or so.
