after I finally got the handle off and sort of understood how the trottle control goes back together it seems like it dosn't work as before I started messing with it. it seems like it is always semi engaged in gear. (the out drive is making noises, clicking). trottle position is not where it was also. I repositioned the handle 100 times. behind the handle there is a brass ring with pins on it. seems it wants to be positioned a certain way. But no marks telling me what position to put it in
The trottle is a single handle quick silver in a 1983 searay I/O with a bow up/bow down botton and trim button under it. also had a trigger type grip on the handle. it also has a square nutral button on the bottom.
I did get the boat to start after fooling with it for a while but........it dosn't seem right. Any info about how this trottle needs to be installed so it works properly would help. their's a # 87513 on inside of the handle.
