15hp Evinrude year question

I was wondering if someone could help with the year of this 15hp Evinrude. I have had this boat for 7 years now and have no idea of its year. I know it is pre 1980 as it does not have a model number but a serial number, I am thinking it may be from around 1956 but not sure. I am in need of a prop for this motor as my old one came off the hub going down the river after walleyes last weekend and am having trouble finding a prop for it. I think I may need a 9.5X10 prop but not sure on that either as I have no factory specifications. The motor is on a 14' aluminum hull and is used entirely for fishing. it has a 5/8" diameter pin drive shaft. The serial number is 15918-04861

you did a good job covering all the bases to get the year,I am sure someone here will tell you what exact year it is,Sorry its not me BUT I see props all the time on ebay for motors in this era class,You wont have a hard time getting one.
That is one clean lookin motor!!

The number 15918-04861...... The first 5 digits are the model number, the following 5 digits are the serial number.

Model 15918 is a 1956 15hp Evinrude. Now, wasn't that easy?
