tips on gel coating floor?

I am going to lay the fiberglass on the new deck and sat. I plan on gel coating.
Any tips for doing it with a roller?
Plus I am going.to use webbing afterwards any tricks with that I've got a pint of black gel and some webbing solution.

I'm currently in the process of restoring a boat and have decided to go ahead and gel coat m floor as well. Was wondering if you had any pictures of the webbing soultion. And also i'm looking for info too. Hope someone on here has some great insite.

The webbing solution is just in a can I got it where I got all my fiberglass
Well mrc I just got the deck fiberglassed about to go mow let it set up and then start on the gel. I will let you know what learn

Not much to rolling gel coat on a floor. Catalyze it, mix it well, poor it on the floor, move it around with a roller. Add a grit if you want it to be nonskid, Wait about an hour or two until its hard and then give it another coat if it needs it. I normally use two coats, it makes for a better looking nonskid surface.

Webbing needs to be sprayed, the air pressure, distance and amount of webbing solution you mix in will determine the exact look, so experiment.

Better have a good solid base color before you start rolling gel..or you will have problems with coverage..

With that webbing.. the only suggestion other then experiment ( costly doing experiments with webbing and gel ) is As soon as you pull that trigger you better MOVE that gun around ;) . Its not like just spraying..the distance will very Greatly .. kinda like playing with a Wii sports game lol. Movement of the gun is sometimes random..

Its hard to explain..

Oh..and have an acetone rag handy at ALL times to Wipe your tip off ..

Well I have decided to wait on doing the gel I don't think I have enough hardner. Its going to be lite gray. And do I need to add wax will the gel stay tacky without it like the resin?

I will call Evercoat Monday and ask them how they sourced there information .. ( I will bet they will change that PDF guide soon :) ).

One oz of pigment for a Quart !! you have got to be kidding..

I decided to just do it today and it turned out great in my eyes!
The gel was very easy to apply and went quick
I couldn't get a sprayer to work for the webbing so i used this and worked like a champ
and super easy to clean

The webbing really made all the little imperfections disappear!
plus it was nice to see a big change fast

Hey YD you better call uscomposites too they recommend the same mix ratio

Maybe you were thinking of the Transparent pigment ratios which are a LOT less.

Transparent Pigments
[SIZE=-1]This liquid pigment can be added to polyester, epoxy and vinyl ester resins to achieve a colored transparent resin which will allow light to pass through.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]Usage: As little as one drop of pigment per quart of resin for a very light tint, up to 1/4oz per gallon for a darker appearance.[/SIZE]

In the future I'll make sure to ask which one the OP is going to use so I'll know how to answer.

1 oz of pigment for solid colors ( using Neutral base gel .. NOT white ;) ) . But they didnt tell you that lol .
