Volvo faulty head gasket on 5.7

I presently own a 31' 2006 Larson Cabrio with twin 5.7 Gi volvo I/o engins. Have not had any unusual problems until boat was put in water last week. I am i the process of selling the boat and when it was sea trialed I was told bot head gaskets were leaking. One engine had steam coming out and the other had low compression (160) in two cylinders with a wet spark plug on the low compression engine. I am told I need to replace both head gaskets and that this is a common problem with Volvo. My marina winterized the engines and I am wondering if this could have been a the result of poor procedure when winterizing or if it is common for Volvo engins? Any thoughts on this out there?

It's far from a Volvo problem, that is a standard 5.7L Chevy engine. Don't believe everything you are "Told"
Head gaskets don't fail from just setting over the winter.
Without some testing, who knows what your problem is.
I would think a leak down test on each cylinder to determine what is leaking would be the first step.
You states some plugs were wet, wet with what, water, fuel ??
Did you check the engine oil? was it milky?
