Carb problems

First of all I'm new to this all so any help would be greatly appreciated I cleaned out the carb but once I started it,it started to shoot gas out of the carb the motor didn't run.I figured this is a carb problem,my mercury outboard s/n is 4957097. Looking to find a carb kit for the outboard (3 I think). Thanks

Where did it shoot out, this carb had the fuel pump on the side correct?

repair kit is 1399-51991

1399-5137 is the pump diaphram kit

the repair kit is expensive. Post a pic from where it's leaking.

Yes the carb fuel pump is on the side and to save any headaches I'm just going to get a repair kit that should cover every thing I hope thanks!

hope it,s just the carb if you have a 2 stroke it could be Reed Valves I read a carb wil spit if these go
