I have a Volvo Penta Prop now. It is 14 1/4" x 23.

I wanted to replace it, so I bought the prop that is for my I/O, and I chose the michigan wheel vortex.

When I got the Michigan Wheel, I noticed it is 14" x 23. Will the 1/4" in diameter less change anything?

It is a direct replacement for what I have, just curious why it is smaller in diameter.

The diameter is a secondary consideration.Not to worry.
If it was the same pitch and an inch difference it could be a problem
"generally" as pitch goes up diameter goes down,pitch down diameter up.
