Re: Spark plug wire help PLEASE
You have to test their continuity with a multimeter.
I use an analog (not digital) multimeter with a resistance scale (x100 or x1000 or x1K) to test your cables.
Touch the probes together, the meter should swing to the right on or near zero. Now use the Ohms Adjust knob to place the meter needle exactly on the zero of the scale.
Now simply place a probe, doesnt matter which one, on either end of the plug wire. The meter should swing to the right to 0 if all is well. A reading would indicate a problem.
Short of having a meter, the wires should feel soft, and not crunch when you flex them. Holes or cuts in the insulation is also a sign of trouble.
