1961 evinrude lark 3 engine cover seal

looking for the front seal, ( bow ) their are 2, for the engine cover. evinrude says its not available any more. i'm going to the auto parts store tomorrow to see if i can match up anything. any help would be appreciated. g

If I understand which seals you are describing, some members have reported successfully using automotive-type vacuum hose to make replacements. Although I have not tried myself, they reported splitting the hose so it would fit over the lip of the cowling. You may have to experiment with several different sizes to find something that is satisfactory for your needs. Good luck and let us know what you find!

I've used 1/8-inch fuel hose, split down one side and slid over the lip... Run a bead of rubber cement in there to attach it permanently...
