I bought this 2001(Aug of 2000) Mercury 4 stroke (3 cylinder, 3 carbs) engine last year. I started it up this year before putting it on the river and it was not running right. It would "dog" down while trying to accelerate. Come to find out the primary was not spraying on the top carb. I took the carb off and cleaned the passages that go through the bowl and the brass tube where it sprays in the throat of the carb. I put it all back together and it purred like a kitten with the muffs on. I took it out today on the river and it would take off fine but just before it was going to plane out it would bog down. It acts like it is starving for fuel. When I let up on the throttle it runs great. I got it home and made sure all my lines were on correctly. I took the out line off the fuel pump and cranked it over and fuel shot about 7ft so I assume the pump is fine. The engine has very low hours and it's like new. I changed the oils and filter, and added stabil to the fuel last fall before I put it away in my garage. Any clue as to what might cause this to not rev up on top end under a load? If I put it in neutral it will rev just fine. HELP!
