I was given an older Minn Kota transom mount trolling motor, it is a model 85A. I have no literature with it and was wondering how many pounds of thrust it produces. Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
I have no idea but then my theory on those old motors is "what difference does it make?" Put it on your boat. If it works fine -- it has enough power. If it doesn't -- sell it and buy one that does. I would personally not even look at those very old motors just because they are generally "battery eaters" meaning they have very rudimentary speed control systems which are energy wasters. If you are an infrequent fisherperson that's not a problem.
