Re: yamaha tach reading 7000rpms at idle
On the back of the tach is a calibration dial. Note the current setting. Then turn that dial back and forth (GENTLY) several times. Then set it back to the original position. Sometimes that adjustment gets a little corroded and turning it back and forth cleans the connection and the tach works normally again.
