I am trying to find out where to get a part for a 1958 Evinrude 18 HP. Not sure what it would be called but it is the small glass cup that catches sediment from the fuel line. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

By the way yes I did drop it on a concrete floor and broke it into a thousand pieces.

They are pretty standard on those old ones.. timsoutboard.com will have one and quick ship and nice prices! Check the rubber gasket it seats to. If that's cracked or hard, replace it. Good luck!

Thanks for your help. I will order from that website in the future if I need anything. My dad talked to a guy at a marine store and he said to take it out and put an inline fuel filter on it so we're going to try that.

Thanks again

you can put in an inline filter in, but you must also keep the glass bowl! It actually forms part of the carburetor. the clear glass bowl set up originally used a filtering stone. while you no longer need the stone you will still need the glass bowl to keep gas from spilling out of the bottom of the carb. be sure to install the inline filter between the fuel pump and the carb. the pressure from the fuiel pump will help to force the fuel the filter and clean it.

Please read the posting guidelines as you've broken two of them already
