save some on gas but lose a lot of power. If your 115 is sucking gas that bad it may need to be repaired. If you run the 115 at 3/4 throttle instead of wide open it should get about the same as a 70. if the 115 is too heavy for the boat it could be pushing the hull too far down in the water, making it struggle to get on a plane, but without driving the boat i am just guessing..
