Hello All. I've got a question reguarding my 1985 Suzuki 9.9. My CAM throttle, that sits under the starter, is very hard to turn. It seems to be gunked up. How can I go about lubricating it, so that it is easier to throttle up and down, without causing electical damage? Thanks for reading.

Re: Stiff Throttle

Will PB blast be safe to spray under the starter? I'm worried about damaging or corroding electrical components.

Re: Stiff Throttle

I've used it on several with no issues. Soaked and worked the linkage for a week with PB, then cleaned it off with brake parts cleaner, and applied Fluidfilm, Corrosion X, or Corrosion block to it. Failrly harsh chemicals for the first two steps but it was what was needed to get the job done. Depending on how "stuck" it is you may just try using something from the "step three" list.
