Color does not matter. They will swap and bolt right up as long as the drive shaft is the same length. During those years, Force engines were made in two lengths: 20 and 25 inches. They had one piece drive shafts and if the shafts are different lengths, this requires disassembling the lower unit to swap shafts.
So, before buying the lower unit, ask how long the drive shaft is and compare it to yours.
