Hi guys, I have a friend that has a 1997 9.9 Mariner that he replaced the water pump and now when he slides it back up to bolt on it will go all the way but the last 3/4 inch to being flush? Is there some trick to getting this back flush to be able to bolt up? Its in "forward" now. I'm stuck since he had already took it apart before i got there so i don't know if he did anything to it when he changed water pump. Please can someone walk me through this or tell me the "trick" to getting this to go back together?
