150 Mercury..Yet another what's my serial # mean

Sorry guys but I searched the web over and cannot find my serial anywhere.

150 Mercury serial #6221419
Can anybody give me any info on this motor?

I'm resurrecting this motor after setting idle for 6 years. I got it running last summer and it seams to run WOT just fine but loads up on idle. I have to do a few short quick punches on the throttle in neutral to get it to clear out. So planning to rebuild the carb?s and the fuel pump to solve the problem.

Sound like a good place to start?

Anybody know where to find the model # on the carbs? Seems to be a change some time in 83 so not for sure what mine are.

Do your carbs have any WH-9/12/29 etc., identifiers on them?

the carbs themselves should have an identifier on it.

That is the info I need(WH-9/12/29) before ordering the kit. I'll have to check it out when I get home.

Geez according to mercurypartsexpress.com web site the kits are $104! Per carb? Holly Cow, I may have to just try and clean them first.

If you just want to clean them first, get the gasket kit and see how it goes from there.

Watch out - that's the same for my engine; but those are the repair kits.

there are gasket kits that are cheaper - if that's all you need.

also off-market is cheaper.

Carb model is WH-23. I think I will take your advice and get the gaskets and just clean them up.
