Motor will not start. I have proved the fuel pump is working and the motor will start when I spray starting fluid in the air intake but won't idle. I think the carb needs rebuilt but, I want someone else to tell me that they agree with me prior to buying a carb kit, etc. The motor set all last year and I didn't have it in the water one time. Comments are appreciated:)

Disconnect the fuel line at the carb and crank to make sure you have good fuel pressure up to that point. Take carb apart and give a thorough cleaning.

I had the carb off 2 times. I kept spraying carb cleaner in the jets, etc. The last time I sprayed and exercised the float valve. I think that did the trick.

It is starting much better and the idle is excellent.
