84 merc blackmax 200 wont start have good fuel,spark,comp????

Im lost on this one boat sat for a year tried to start her up and she just wont kick over???? pulled the plugs they were wet so i assume they are getting fuel checked compression 120-125 psi i just dont get it.... is starting fluid safe to use many people have told me i could ruin the motor no sure but i sure am tempted

Don't use starting fluid. BAD.
Could have water in the fuel system.???
Have you tried a portable fuel tank with good fuel.

Have you checked for a strong spark at all plugs?

Going to try new gas ie portable tank, as far as strong spark not sure how to measure or tell if its strong enough or not? hmmm wonder if i can upload video? maybe a youtube link... thanks for the quick response guys>>

sparks gap tester..available at most auto part store for about $10. set at 7/16 gap..do not use staring fluid..use mixed gas in a spray bottle instead. have you checked timing???
I will give you $50 for the motor.

Thanks for the info ie: spark tester/spray bottle but 50$ for motor this is a 1500$ motor all day long compression is like new I also have a complete parts motor minus lower end.. She has allot of life left last year she was pushing my 19.5 sea ray 55mph on choppy water.. Not sure if it's a mod but this motor acts like it's on steroids.. Will post an update soon thanks again for your advice

that is a good motor..but only worth $500 if it does not run...$1200-1500 would be top dollar if it is in perfect running condition. I was just joking about the $50. let me know what you find

Well guys thanks for all your help got her running turns out the fuel had water in it and the carbs on all three were full of some kind of gell maybe ethanol not sure??cleaned them out hooked up the portable tank new fuel and she fired right up......Now as she was running i noticed that i couldnt keep my hand under the water outlet for long the water was really hot not sure if this is normal... maybe stats bad or need to be replaced not sure i did replace the water pump last year...

Should be hot 140?. If it didn't peel your skin off, it's good.
