I received no response to my question on the Merc 7.5 to 9.9 hp motors, so I bought the best conditioned 9.9 that I could find for my Grumman Sportboat. The motor is an ealy 90's short shaft, 2 cycle. Are there any problem areas that I should be watching for? I believe that this motor will provide enough power to plane out the boat at a pace greater than the present 8 mph. Thanks for your thoughts.
