We have no idea who made the battery or whether it is a deep cycle, starting battery, dual purpose, marine, AGM or GEL since all you said is it is a CCA 950. And to make matters worse -- we can't see it. I guess what you could do is pick it up and shake it a bit. If you hear splashing it's a wet cell.
