Re: maintenance fee battery

Hey, all batteries will need some sort of maintenance to keep and maintain their charge. But i prefer optima batteries for marine applications in that they are sealed and don't require adding any fluids through out their life. I've used Optima batteries for a while and the only thing i due from time to time is through on the charger.

Take a look at the Delco Voyager RV battery. It's a sealed battery and I had great luck with it on my last boat. It was used only for trolling and it did it well. It was also less expensive than the Optima deep cycle. Nothing against Optima batteries though, I have one in my current boat.

Deka gel way above all others. Deka AGM second choice. Any lead acid battery, sealed or not = very last choice.

The AC Delco Voyager and Optima deep cycle batteries are AGM.

Sears DieHard Platinums are probably the most expensive out there, but great batteries....
