Re: New boater

Flush/clean/check/ entire fuel system from tank through carbs. If it's a steel tank(rust?), then maybe get a new polyethylene tank, new primer bulb, check fuel filter and pump, drain each carb, new spark plugs, new water pump impellar(it's ready to change), change lower unit oil. Sounds like a lot of stuff, but better to get everything right before running that motor. Should be a nice rig when you get it all fixed up!

Re: New boater

determine what year the motor is. There have been a lot of changes under the hood through the years that can make a difference, especially if you need to do electrical work.
You will do best if you break out your questions into specific areas, and then be specific within the area. Also search the threads; there is nothing new under the sun.

My brother got an 88 Procraft 3 yrs ago.Its a great fishing boat.he had to reinforce his transome with a piece of steel cause it was kinda bendy.might want to check yours for this. His is a 16' fishnski w a 150 on it,alot heavyer than your 70 though.
