Hey guys
I just got carb kit P/N 1395-9648-1 and have a few questions. Motor is the 1993 15hp Iv'e been working on.
1) I think these are were the 2 brass plugs go. Do they always need to be changed even if they dont leak?? If so how do I remove the old ones and insert/seal the new ones?
2)The old needle was attached to the arm the float pushes with what looks like a custom "clip" , by using wire and twisting it around the needle and forming a hook. Looks like it was done good but I'd rather have the right part. The kit came with no clip to hold the needle to the float arm. Can I just use a clip off of old needles that came out of my XR4? Why doesn't the kit come with a clip?
3) The old low speed mixture screw is the longer one. The kit came with the short one. Which one should I use? The short one doesn't seat in the hole in the back of the mixing chamber. Any idea why the kit came with a short one?
Thanks,
DamianJP
