okay I have a 1964 johnson 75 hp. I've been having trouble trying to get my outboard to start. Its getting fuel. In fact when I crank it over it spits fuel out of the water intake, i think im not sure if it leaking there but it smells like it. Another thing is SPARK. I have gaped the points to .02 I even sanded them down just in case of corrosion. I when into the distributor and sanded all electrical contacts just to be sure. Now how can I check spark? I have a spark tester(not an open air gap) but nothing. Is there a way to check spark at the coil. Because I think my wires are bad so maybe thats why its not getting any spark what do you guys think?
