hi thru some research i have found out that i need to use a 20 to 1 fuel mix for all of my evinrude and my one johnson motors. all i have a '54 seahorse 5.5 a '55 15hp faastwin. a '57 18hp fastwin and a '58 10hp sportwin that locked up and going to be my next project. i have ran the other three and they ran good until my 18 hp quit on me on the missouri river... good thing i was up stream :) i think it might have been the fuel because then i thought the ratio was 25 to 1 and i also used some old can of 2 stroke oil i found in the shed still wants to run but it just wont stay running. so i guess my big question is what kind of oil is recommended? also i am gong to drain the tank i have to make sure there are no particulates getting in the motor. should have done that first i guess.

I use the cheap stuff from walmart and it works fine for me.

16:1 on the 5.5hp and 24:1 on all the others.
