Hello everyone,
I am rebuilding a mercruiser 5.0, When I tore down the motor, I found that the heads were cracked. They were casting # 14101081. I bought a set of remanufactured heads, casting # 14102187. Does anyone know if these heads can be used in a marine application? The only differences that I can find are the 081's have round pushrod holes, and the 187's are slotted, and the 081's have larger exhaust valve stems (+.15). Does anyone know anything about these heads?

Not a marine issue, but you need to make sure you don't have vintage issues. I didn't go look up the numbers, but your description leads me to think that the round vs slotted pushrod holes might mean you need self aligning rocker arms for the new heads. Another thing to check is your intake center bolt angle. Pre-'87 had a different angle than latter.
