I posted over in the mercruiser section a question about gas in oil I didn't think I should post it here since the title of this forum is Boat Topics and Questions (not engine topics).

I need some advice pretty quick since I've got to talk to the repair shop Monday.

Sounds like HT32BSX115 nailed it. The fuel pump would be the first place to look. I'm not a big boat guy, but the small block Chevy fuel pump has done this trick since the 265ci.

I'm not sure if a marine fuel pump would do this but an automotive pump certainly will.
