So I put all new guages in my boat because the motor is new, and im the type of guy that like to monitor all of the engine. Anyway i installed a new manual oil pressure guage and while it works its very slow to react and change pressures. It is also very slow to leak back down. I was wondering if any one had had a similar problem. I believe is due to how long the oil line itself has to be. Its much longer than it would be on a car, as it has to go all the way to the back of the motor to the dash. Any help would be appreciated!

Perhaps a kink in the line?

Length is your problem for sure. Stick with an electrical gauge at the helm, if you want a mechanical gauge, mount one in the engine compartment so you can use it to verify your electrical gauge.
