I can't seem to get my johnson to fire over. Its cranking and its getting fuel(just cleaned the carbs and replaced the fuel lines). I just got it and i know that it's been sitting for a few years. Any suggestions as to why it wouldn't fire up? thanks

Get an open air gap spark tester ( available at parts houses for about $8.00) and see if the spark will jump a 1/4" open air gap. My guess would be the points are corroeded.

If the spark is absent, it is likely: Points are dirty, condenser is bad, coil has cracks allowing shorts. Sometimes the rotor develops a crack allowing the spark to go to ground, instead of to the plugs.
