difference between the 2003 Mercruiser 3.0L head and the 1992

Is there any difference between the 2003 Mercruiser 3.0L head and the 1992? I have a crack in the head and a guy has a 1992 for sale. I heard the opennings to the exhaust manifold might not be the same. Does anyone know? I am definitely not a mechanic and would appreciate any assistance.
I am new to this.

Ayuh,... It may not be exactly the same, but it'll run just fine....

Thanks so much for responding. So no modifications need to be made to the head to fit on the exhaust manifold or anything-huh?

Get the correct head. I'm not sure if the 92 is the same as a 03 (doubt it), but you want the ports to match up. Some of the heads have ports 1/2 the size of other years, and some heads have ports combined.

One way to tell if the heads are the same is if the gasket P/N is the same, see what gasket a 92 uses and what gasket an 03 uses.

BTW, I'm almost positive the 03 has very small intake ports, not sure on the 92.
