I have a Johnson motor that I recently acquired, but I have no idea what year. The only numbers I can find on it are on the block. It has J2606744. The cover indicates that it is a 6 hp. Does anyone know what year this motor is?
I also have an Evinrude with 6602b-e01190 on the mounting plate. I believe it to be a 1966 6hp, but I am not sure of that.
Is there a serial number guide somewhere for these pre 1980 motors that breaks down the number and gives the detailed options?
