Just installed lower units on 200 merc outboards twins.
Running on muffs first climbed to 140 degree but water was pumping well from telltale. Seemed a little hot for just 5 minutes.
Second, no water right away from tell tale, pooked hole seemed to be clogged got a dribble, reved egine got more water, motor climbed to 180, shut off.
???? Plan to drop lower unit and check impeller and pull thermos. Should/ how do I clean water passages/ heads if full of crap? Is it possible that they are clogged?
Motors are 1996, ran last year no issue over heating, do run in saltwater.
