johnson outboard fires then dies after you let off the key

When my motor turns over it fires once or twice and cuts out. Anybody have any answers? motor is a 1995 johnson seahorse 125hp v4

Sounds like fuel problem. But i aint no mechanic.

better post the whole model number as there was no 125 hp in 1995

Does it keep running if you pump the primer bulb? When my vro2 went bad it wouldnt pump fuel and i I had to have someone pump the bulb to get back in.
