Cleaning Aluminum

I bought an aluminum boats and the metal seems to be stained brown from sitting in the river. Whats the best way to clean this off ?

Acid will clean aluminum like new, but you have to find the right kind for it!

There are several aluminum cleaners that can be bought over the counter. One is called aluminum brite and can be bought at places that cater to 18 wheelers. They use it to clean their fuel tanks and so on. It cost around 7.50 a gallon and is diluted with water. Another chemical called allumibrite can be bought from most air condition sevice centers.
