I am looking at buying a boat that has a 1983 85 hp Force w/ a cracked intake. Can anyone tell me how hard it is to get parts and how hard it is to change the intake?

Cracked intake??? Thats a bit vague. You mean the part where the three carbs mount??
Its got the triangular reel blocks on the back of it??
Oddball parts seem to be get-able on ebay for folks that are parting one out.
Welcome by the way. Gobs of great information here.
Be patient man, there are some real good "Force" people lurking.
Always have serial numbers by the way.
My experience with the help here is totally priceless!!!
Great site.

It is not difficult to get parts, but unless the price is too juicy to resist, walk away. Why buy a known problem? There will always be another boat for sale. If it is just a cracked intake manifold, then it is an easy repair. HOWEVER if the front of the crankcase is cracked, then only a new (used) block will fix it.

You must consider this a boat with no engine--no matter how well the owner says it runs. Every engine I bought and rebuilt "ran well when it was put away"

Have you heard of Caveat Emptor? --let the buyer beware.
