I hope this is the right place to post this.

I Need Help On The Firing Order On 1983 OMC 1.6 L .Sea Drive.
I bought a boat with a 1983 OMC 1.6 L out board motor 110 hp.
I think the firing order is messed up but I don,t know how
to check it out. First of all which piston is # 1 facing the
spark plugs. And what order doe,s it fire? I am new to this
type of out board. What makes it fire to the coils? I don't
think this motor has points. The two cylinders on the left
side has fire but the two on right side has no fire.I changed
the power pack over to the right side but it still has no fire.
Is there any way to check the coils to see if they are bad ?
I also need to know if the coils are mounted in the right place.
I also need to bye a Manuel. Where would be a good place to
find one? I have been told that this motor is the same as a
Johnson out board.
Any help on my problem would be appreciated.

Thank,s Ace 1948

Outboards are 1-2-3-4, so I would have to assume the Sea Drive is also.

Look at the spark plugs. See the highest one? That is #1. Next down would be #2, on the opposite bank. Cross over again for #3 and finally cross over again for #4.

The sea drive is a outboard 1.6 L motor 110 hp looks just like a 1983 Johnson outboard.
