I'm adding a bow mount trolling motor to a 1983 basstracker I'm refurbinshing. I need to install new 6 AWG wire from bow to trolling motor in the stern, and want to use crimp terminal ends (with heat shrink wrap). My crimp maxs at 10AWG. The 6 AWG or bigger crimping tool at West Marine cost $82 (I only need to crimp a couple of 6 AWG wires). Does anyone have a cheaper but still effective solution?

Sorry for the typo - the trolling battery (not trolling motor) is in the stern.

If you haven't bought the cable yet you can get them on ebay all made up for you from the seller genuinedealz.

Sometimes you can loan a tool at auto zone or advance auto parts stores.....maybe they have a crimper in that size...

If it were me I would solder the end on and shrink tube it.....It's a better connection for marine applications....

All good advise (especially the referral to http://genuinedealz.com/ ). I always prefer to "do-it-myself" but this site has everything I need at much more reasonable prices than the local marine supply stores.
Thanks.
