I say "SEMI" because a lot of work was already done and she got a motor/jet fresh rebuild (though P.O. said rod bearings may be bad).

Here's just getting her home from purchase in Hilton Head SC

More pics tomorrow. Got the 460 on the stand and flipped over. First look at rod bearings gives me hope. Might be able to just bolt it back up and go. Had a problem with a flywheel bolt and probably need a new drive shaft assembly.

Dang you've got a few motorized toys around your shop! Nice big work area also. I'm envious of that!

Very Cool. Similar lines to my Ambassador. Nice to see another big day cruiser jet on the board.

ERm.. MTBE is some bad stuff there cowboy.. why not acetone ?

Is this a how to ..or How I..?

Dont get me wrong here.. Nice Little boat you have..but It would be kinda cool as to how you did things other that Bang this is end result. ( Im kinda thinking that with all that help your a bit further in your resto then what the Pics show ).

Remember this is boat resto forum..help and questions are welcome ( preferred ). Not just show and tells ;) ..

ohh no worries Ill be begging for answers to Q's in no time. Im a chemist by profession and work with MTBE all day and generate a couple liters of left over so I store it and use it when solvents are needed.
I am super lucky that I have a small army of pals to work on her but as mentioned in the title its a semi resto since the P.O. did a lot of work already on her

That's going to be a slick boat when you're done. Keep plugging away.

Re: Stringer and Motor pull

some strange secondary valve-reliefs were notched into the sides of the pistons:

so naturally one (#3) had broke:

Got wicked lucky though. no scoring on the cylinder walls and valve head. Pieces blew out the exhaust with no other damage.

SORRY forgot to get cabin pics. Will do this weekend.

Got the boat lifted off the trailer and onto some tire stacks. The trailer is very rough but salvageable.
