Having trouble finding the piston to cylinder clearance specs for a 1990 15 HP Evinrude 2-stroke. Getting ready to bore to .30 over due to a overheating seizure from a plastic bag hung on water pick up....Thanks for the help!!
A marine machine shop will know the exact bore requirements. You just need to tell them the pistons you're planning to use. The OEM shop manual will have the bore service tolerances also.
And we'll assume we're going to .030 over, not .30 over.....Wild is right (again) the machine shop will know what the finished bore size should be. Just be sure to use a shop that is used to boring outboards.
