It depends on what you use. The cheap option is Herculiner. 100 bucks for a gallon, rolls on. Cheap, looks good for a few months, then starts to fade and if you are runnin trails or anything and you get some rub, it will come off, especially in hot weather. If you get it professionally sprayed on with either Rhino liner or line-x, it will turn out much better, especially if you get a UV protective coat mixed in or as an overcoat. It looks good in my opinion. I say go for it.

Zach use regular automotive paint, then use chip guard paint. It will look better longer ;)

I cant say much about what to use, but it sure looks cool to me. I always thought two tone with a dark bottom makes the truck look like it sits higher.

Thirty years ago, in Wisconsin, the paint scheme was popular.
Rust repair was performed on the "Rust Line" of the vehicle.
Instead of doing regular body work, the ruff body surface was covered in Body Schutz from 3m.

That color scheme looked ok in the 90s and 80s...not so much now. Looks better all one color IMHO.

I am going to agree with Bruce and 642, the two tone was in many years ago, but I like the solid colors now a days..

Around here we call it "Rock Guard", if you do any traveling on gravel/dirt roads a couple of cans of rock guard will protect that area from those nasty rock chips that rust out really fast.
